How to find a mentor:

  • 🚫 Don’t ask them to mentor
  • 💬 Just ask (specific) questions
  • 📊 Apply their insights
  • 🔥 Follow up w/ results
  • ♻️ Repeat

I think there’s a misconception about how mentorship-relations are formed. It’s often only in hindsight called a mentorship.

Feels very unnatural to me when someone asks “can you be my mentor?” I don’t know what I’m saying yes to. Just ask the actual questions 😄

It’s like when people text me “hi are you there?” I never reply haha. I’m not committing to a conversation before I know what it’s about.

Mentorship is a two-way transaction. The mentor benefits by sharing knowledge she wants to see out in the world.

If she feels like the question has been answered before, or is better answered by someone else, you might not get a reply.
